A couple of weeks age we visited the Stourhead house and gardens – possibly the finest example of an English landscape garden. Even in the drizzle it was very impressive, the rhododendrons were in flower. Also I now have serious garden crush on the pelargonium house.
Henry Hoare II began laying the gardens out in 1744 in the naturalist style which was very much was en vogue at the time. You can read more about the history of the garden and get visiting info on the National Trust website.
